Info

Marek Okon is a Tokyo based Art Director and Designer who goes under the alias of OKON. His multidisciplinary approach to design comes from a passion to play the roles of craftsman and inventor in order to visually and conceptually bring ideas to life.

OKON studied design production at the SCHOOLOFDESIGN of George Brown College, and design theory at YSDN of York University, in Toronto, Canada before relocating to Tokyo to work at Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo as a Senior Designer. For 10 years, he collaborated with clients such as Honda, Nike Japan, Google, MTV, Spotify, Sony, and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, while taking on the role of designer, art director, photographer, illustrator, and animator.

Some of his accolades include having personal work featured in publications such as STASH MEDIA and Rock Port; being invited to speak at Plus+ International Conference in Birmingham, England about experimental typography; and exhibiting personal work at the Gutenberg Museum in Mainz, Germany.

Currently OKON is working independently with various Tokyo based creative agencies and brands. Most recently collaborating with Apple Japan on branding new store openings.

OKON also plays around with the camera and you can see his photography here.
